Arriving in Ukraine, Chris wonders what on Earth he is doing here! It’s a country best known for civil war, nuclear disaster, Soviet repression and lots of cabbage soup. Centuries of invaders have left a legacy of a 13,000 mile rail network to explore, but it appears rambling and run down… is this a railway too far? Travelling from Chop in the far West to Odessa on the Black Sea, Chris finds that nothing here is quite what he was expecting. From the a bizarre heritage to the sewers of Lviv and the worlds supposedly most romantic railway, his trip also takes in the evidence of a little known genocide, the remains of the world’s worst nuclear disaster and the opportunity to start a nuclear war.
